| Our teachers are
special, too. It's not just any teacher that works at the Chamber School. It's an extremely dedicated, highly-involved, flexible professional. Who is a memeber of the Providence Teachers Union. Teaming up with Education Career Advisors, our teachers present an unusually unified structure to help students understand what is expected. Receiving consistent messages and direction leads to better performance. We believe that all students learn through direct experience in the workplace, and that all students can fulfill the Student-School Contract. Our teachers strive for a 100% success rate in graduating students who successfully transition to post-high school life. Our closely-knit faculty provides a support and monitoring program for each other, sharing ideas and observations, developing abilities, and sharing leadership in a collegial atmosphere. With teachers seeking professional development and learning from each other, the entire school grows and benefits. Innovative administration means running a school like a business. Based on our philosophy that decisions affecting teaching and learning should be made by on-site professionals, we have a decentralized administrative structure, led by a governing board and one Chief Executive Officer. The Governing Board sets direction and policy which is implemented by the CEO/Head of School. The Board's unprecedented makeup includes representatives from the three most important figures in a student's life: six parents, six teachers and six business leaders. As full voting members of the Board, parent representatives are active participants in the school's success, guiding policy and providing input. The CEO is responsible for overall accountability to fulfilling the school's charter. The school's operations officer is responsible for day-to-day operations, physical plant management and financial management. |
